Meet The Designer

Hello! My name is Gail Demeraski, and I am a senior at Rider University, graduating in May 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. This follows my education at Rowan College at Burlington County, where I graduated with my associate's degree in Graphic Design in 2024. Throughout my college career, I have maintained a 3.9 GPA while balancing both academic and professional responsibilities.

As Design Manager for The Rider News, I oversee the graphics for each weekly issue and lead a team of designers. I make sure team members have opportunities to contribute and be credited while also ensuring all work meets design and legal standards. I’m comfortable delegating tasks and providing constructive feedback when revisions are needed. Additionally, I have made many changes to both the newspaper template and personally designed the weekly email template, inspiring another on-campus organization, 107.7 The Bronc, to impliment the same style to their emails.

I’m passionate about all areas of design, from flyers and advertisements to web design, and I enjoy experimenting with new ideas and techniques. Whether I’m creating something from scratch or working within established brand guidelines, I’m always looking for ways to push my creative limits. While I don’t limit myself to a single style, I’m especially strong in Adobe Illustrator, where I focus on vector graphics and typography-focused designs. I also have extensive experience with Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, and Dreamweaver.

In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and DND, reading, and hiking. Some of my favorite games include Baldur’s Gate 3, and Skyrim. I love to absorb myself into a fictional world and see different the interpretations of fantasy. My favorite book is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, and I also adore The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I have also travelled to many National Parks, such as Yellowstone, Zion and Shenandoah and have formed a deeper appreciation for nature. I also enjoy creating mini sculptures with clay and making my own jewelry. I love not only finding inspiration, but turning it into something tangible—and I’m always looking for new hobbies and creative outlets.
